HALF MOON BAY, CA (September 20, 2011) – A group of surfers, business owners and community leaders have united to bring peace back into the lineup at Mavericks and stability to the renowned big wave surfing event. The group, with Mavericks pioneer Jeff Clark as Contest Director, is re-organizing the event as the Mavericks Big Wave Invitational.
It’s the most unique perspective from Mavericks and the most dangerous to shoot. But if you survive, the images are always nothing less than spectacular.
Walking with my son across the Golden Gate Bridge and came across a small anit-war protest taken place. The Bridge workers just happend to be climbing down the same time they were walking by. I got these shots as the two met… I love my city. photo by Frank Quirarte©
